August 2017

Welcome, Bulldogs!

On behalf of the teachers and staff of Blue Oak Elementary, I would like to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year.

Every new school year brings excitement and anticipation to what’s to come. Staff and students alike are wondering about all the new people they will meet. I know this year will be equally exciting for me, as I am one of the new faces on the Blue Oak campus. I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Rachelle Ball, and I am the new principal of Blue Oak Elementary. I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning and growing with our students and staff. In my interactions with the Blue Oak community, I know that they strive for academic excellence and high student engagement on a daily basis.

I am very passionate about the importance of the elementary years. I spent 13 years teaching elementary students in first through third grades and know first hand the importance of building positive relationships and a solid foundation during these early years of school. For the past three years, I have served as the Elementary Principal at Sierra School in Placerville. In each of my roles, I put students first and always at the center of the decisions that I make. My passion has been and always will be educating students.  Working as a team with the students, families, and staff, I am committed to helping each student achieve their very best!

Our theme for the year is “Dream Big.” We will use a quote from Walt Disney as our guiding words, “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” With this year-long theme, we will work together to dream big, work hard, and have the courage to take risks and make good decisions.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you in the coming year.  The outstanding support from our families plays a large part in the success of Blue Oak students.  You and your child are a part of this dynamic educational community; together we will accomplish great things.  We are happy to welcome back returning students and getting to know those students and families who will be new to us this year.

Rachelle Ball

Blue Oak Principal
